I headed out early Sunday morning - up at 5:00 am - flight at 7:10 am - and flew to Chicago. I was at and checked into hotel by @ 10:00 am central time which left me a few hours before the meeting actually started. It was such a gorgeous day I decided I needed to be outside rather than go to the gym so I picked up from the concierge what the local jogging trails were. I didn't pay attention initially to the fact that this particular trail was 5 1/2 miles (about 2 1/2 miles more than what I would normally do) but turned out it was a better way to spend the time rather than watch the Chicago Bears get their butt kicked by the Arizona Cardinals.
The next day I went to the gym and rode one of those elliptical machines for 25 minutes (again not my usual workout) and spent the balance of the week with such sore calves to the point I was tiptoeing everywhere - most likely a comical sight.
Aside from that I had two good meetings and took some customers to Pete's Piano Bar in downtown Houston Thursday night - a place I had never been in all the years I lived there - which was a fun hangout and got some of my colleagues and customers up on stage.
I was starting to wear out toward the end of the week and longing for home which I made it to late Friday night. I was thinking about Pope Francis traveling the U.S. this week and in particular addressing Congress, sympathizing with the rigors of his schedule, glad he took time out to be here.
Another week has come and gone. Gabby (and Tyler) are now in their 38th week - 2 to go. Naomi Victoria will be making her appearance any day now, and Gabby's looking terrific.
And while working on the west coast this week Jake had the opportunity to visit The Schleutkers in Carlsbad. Sue captured this precious photo of him with Grant.
Flying home I had Gem with me. She's always good to belly up to the bar with.
Looking forward to a week in Charleston getting caught up and doing the day to day and homeowner chores; yard work, laundry, housekeeping, etc. and all other projects that make the list.
